As the weather (thankfully) cools down we’ve started to see a few of the rich, winter tones coming in as requests at the salon, so we thought it may be time to showcase some of our favorite fall hair color trends for 2014 to help you start to plan strategy.
Trade out your bleached beach blonde for a warmer hue this fall. Think warm wheat colors that will highlight your tan without washing you out as your summer color is traded with a scarf. For those with paler complexions that plan to keep it in the blonde family, deepening the roots is also important to tie in the look so you can make sure to add dimension to the overall look.
The thing is, we live in Orange County so we are lucky enough to get beautiful summer weather fairly year round. So even though we like to dabble in the fall/winter fashion trends, we don’t have to go all out for glacial gear or brace ourselves for pasty, winter complexions. That said, we’re loving the ‘bronde’ trend for our brunettes in Irvine. Ask us about Balayage highlights away from your roots to add some subtle sweeping highlights towards the tips to frame the face.
No fall hair color list would be complete without a red – it’s as iconic ‘autumn’ as pumpkin spice latte. For 2014 we love the copper reds, giving warmth and vibrance to fall fashion. Going red for a season is a great in-between for both blondes and brunettes, just ask your stylist for ideas on getting a bit of copper into your look.
If you love to go a tad darker in the fall/winter season, going a bit more golden with your rich brown will be right on trend. The best thing about brunette is that there are so many options, but the trends we’ve spotted this year include a rich, chocolate brown with some subtle warm highlights popping out in lower layers for a beautiful flowing effect.
